U14A, U16A,U19A Tryouts 2023-2024
Tryout Registration Information
It is the intention of Barrie and District Ringette to host U14AA, U14A, U16A and U19A teams for the 2023-2024 season. BDRA reserves the right to change team offerings up to and including the beginning of the season.
In order to participate, all players must be registered with Ringette Ontario for insurance coverage. Any players from outside ringette, please email president@barrieringette.ca.
Releases
No player needs a release to try out for any team. A release is required in order to accept a spot on a team outside of one's home association. BDRA home association players will not be released to play outside the association except in the following circumstances:
- the player is offered a spot on a level of team that BDRA is not offering (i.e. U16AA, U19AA)
- the player is offered a spot on a team that BDRA is offering, but BDRA will not be offering the player a spot (i.e. a player is "cut")
Tryouts can be a stressful time for players, coaches, and volunteers. Please be kind and respectful when communicating either in person or via email. Because associations have tryouts at different times, there may be some waiting required for releases. No player will be released outside the association for a team BDRA offers unless that player has also attended BDRA tryouts.

Please read Barrie Ringette's Policies BDRA Provincial Team Formation Policy, including the underage-player policy. No underage player will be allowed to step on the ice for tryouts without completing this process. Please note that overage players cannot be rostered on A or AA teams.

Players must also have submitted their intent to try out for respective level of play.
Sign up for U14 A, U16 A and U19 A tryouts are now open. Please ensure you have reviewed our website prior to registration and for ongoing updates regarding BDRA A and AA level tryouts.

Registration will close 24 hours prior to the try out.
U14 Families if your player is trying out for AA please wait until after AA team formation before signing up for single A try outs.
U14A players for 2023-2024 must be born in the following years: 2011, 2010
U16A players for 2023-2024 must be born in the following years: 2009, 2008
U19A players for 2023-2024 must be born in the following years: 2007, 2006, 2005
If your player is underage and would like to try out for a team out of their age bracket please see the BDRA team formation policy for further instructions:

All players will be invited to the first and second tryouts. The third tryouts will be by invitation only.

U14 A: May 23 - 6:15-7:15 IRC GOLD, May 26 - 6-7pm Allandale Blue, May 27, 2-3pm Allandale Blue
U16A: May 24 - 6:15-7:15 IRC GOLD, May 26 - 7-8pm Allandale Blue, May 27 - 3-4 pm Allandale Blue
U19A: May 23 - 7-8 pm Allandale, May 26 - 8-9pm Allandale Blue, May 27 - 4-5pm Allandale Blue
