COVID-19 / High Importance

Based on guidelines from Ringette Canada and Ringette Ontario, the Barrie and District Ringette Association developed a COVID Safety Team. We would like to recognize Lori Carre, Noa Upham and Jani Edwards for their dedication to the COVID-19 processes and the hard work that went into getting approval by Ringette Ontario to move to practices and modified house league play. We really can’t thank them enough for the countless hours of work!

The full plan can be located here and includes hyperlinks to relevant documents.

Reminders/Disclosures:

Access to change rooms will be limited to initially to putting on helmet/skates and goalie equipment, players are to come dressed and ready to play.
All players (parent/guardian if under 18) will be required to attend a Player Town Hall prior to the start of the season. Processes and expectations will be shared at this time. Please remember and strictly adhere to public health guidance for social distancing, hand hygiene, mask usage and BDRA processes. This is essential to protect everyone. Disregarding public health related guidance will lead to consequences for individuals and possibly for the entire organization.
Despite the best efforts of all our volunteers, the BDRA cannot guarantee the safety of our members and their families so the ultimate decision to assume any risks related to COVID lies with each family. As stated in our registration email if you or a family member falls into the vulnerable or high-risk category for complications from contracting COVID-19 please speak to your medical professional prior to registering.
Please note that programming could change, based on Ringette Ontario, City of Barrie, Town of Innisfil and SMDHU guidance. We hope for continued developments eventually allowing for regular 5on5 play but we need to be prepared for renewed restrictions and possible orders to limit or cease game play.
Registered players and families will be informed of any changes as soon as the BDRA is aware.
Extra PPE has been purchased for this season. It includes: hand sanitizer, gloves, masks for coaches/trainers or injured players, eye protection and disinfectant.
There will be no SHARED equipment or water bottles.

It is the family/player responsibility to ensure truthful declarations and honesty around health status. There are no exceptions this year for illness.

Any player who is positive for a symptom(s) on the COVID Screen Tool must not attend until cleared.

If you have questions related to COVID-19 and player safety OR if your player is ILL, please email
