2021 BDRA Winter Session

Given that Simcoe County has been placed back into the “Red” Zone on the Ontario COVID -19 Response Framework. Barrie and District Ringette Association is now able to reintroduce some programming that aligns with the red zone restrictions.   The focus will be on getting players back on the ice in small groups for training that maintains social distancing, involves no player contact and no games or scrimmages.

Small group Powerskating & Skills Sessions will be offered starting the week of February ……..

U8/U10 --  1 ice time per week for 5 weeks at a cost of $115.00   (Monday evenings)

(birth years 2011 +)

U12/14/16 -  7 ice times over 5 weeks at a cost of $155.00  (Sunday evenings)

(birth years 2010 and under)

**Players will be placed in small groups based on age, skill and availability of parent volunteers. We will not be able to ensure friend requests.**

Registration for these sessions is limited to 20 players in U8/10 level and 50 players in U12/14/16 due to ice availability so please register immediately if interested. A waitlist will be created if interest is high.

If your player did NOT skate with us in the FALL session please email registrar@barrieringette.ca to discuss the options as there will be a mandatory Ringette Ontario fee of $48 that is required to cover insurance.

Although every effort will be made to ensure participant health and safety this season, we would encourage participants and their families to evaluate their current health status including that of those you are in close contact with prior to registering to play Ringette for 2020-2021. If the Ringette participant or anyone they are in close contact with is deemed higher risk please consult with your medical practitioner prior to registering to play. Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) currently describes high risk as anyone with compromised immune systems, those with co-existing medical conditions such as diabetes, cardiac disease, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, and higher thromboembolism risk, severe asthma, chronic lung conditions, and autoimmune diseases

It is with regret that, due to the current COVID restrictions, BDRA will not be able to provide a Learn-to-skate (LTS) program this year.

Please read about our return to play protocols and COVID safety measures here.
